I still remember “To Sir, with Love” and “The Man with the Golden Gun”… By the way, if you ever want to convert a video file from youtube to an mp3 file, go to the site http://www.youtube-mp3.org
Lulu’s “To Sir, with Love” is an excellent album. Lulu has a strong, bluesy pop voice, and generally does a great job interpreting lyrics. The only song I’d cut from the album is her cover of the Beatles’ “Day Tripper.” It’s not as flat-out embarrassing as Petula Clark’s 1967 demolition of Roger Miller’s “England Swings,” but I just don’t like the way Lulu stretches some of the notes in the lines: “She was a day tripper / One way ticket, yeah / It took me so long to find out / And I found out.” The rest of the album, however, is killer!
BTW, thanks for the link to youtube-mp3.org, Steed. I’ve bookmarked it for possible future use. Right now, I use
And it does a fine job, I think. Perhaps you’ll give it a try. 🙂
Trouble is, really useful free online tools have an unfortunate tendency to disappear the minute one begins to take them for granted. Or morph from freeware into shareware. 😦
